Welcome to Sari Ride. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Sari Ride mobile application and website (the "Service") operated by Sari Ride ("we", "our", "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Account Registration
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account using your mobile phone number. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information
- Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used for fraudulent purposes.
2. Booking & Ticketing
When you book a trip through Sari Ride, you are entering into a contract of carriage with the bus operator, not with Sari Ride. Sari Ride acts as an intermediary platform connecting passengers with licensed bus operators.
By making a booking, you agree to:
- Provide accurate passenger details (name and contact number) for each traveller
- Ensure all passengers present valid identification when boarding
- Arrive at the departure station at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time
- Comply with the bus operator's rules and regulations during travel
Each booking generates a unique e-ticket for every passenger. E-tickets are non-transferable and must be presented (digitally or printed) at the time of boarding.
3. Pricing & Payment
All prices displayed on the Service are in Kenyan Shillings (KES) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Prices are set by bus operators and may vary based on route, date, and demand.
Payment must be completed at the time of booking. We accept the following payment methods:
- M-Pesa
- Credit/Debit cards
- Bank transfers
A booking is only confirmed once payment is successfully processed. If payment fails, the booking will not be created and no seats will be reserved.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellation policies are determined by individual bus operators. General guidelines:
- More than 24 hours before departure: Full refund minus a processing fee of KES 100 per ticket
- 6 to 24 hours before departure: 50% refund
- Less than 6 hours before departure: No refund
- No-show: No refund
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7-14 business days. If a trip is cancelled by the operator, you will receive a full refund automatically.
5. Seat Availability
Seat availability shown on the Service is provided in real-time and is subject to change. While we strive to keep availability accurate, we cannot guarantee that seats will remain available between the time you search and complete your booking. If a seat becomes unavailable during booking, you will be notified and no charge will be applied.
6. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service
- Resell tickets at a markup or use the Service for commercial ticket scalping
- Submit false or misleading passenger information
7. Service Availability
We strive to maintain the Service's availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from Service downtime.
8. Limitation of Liability
Sari Ride is a booking platform and does not operate bus services. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for delays, cancellations, accidents, or service quality issues caused by bus operators
- We are not liable for loss of personal belongings during travel
- Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant booking
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
9. Intellectual Property
All content on the Service — including the name "Sari Ride", logos, design, text, graphics, and software — is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
10. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
11. Dispute Resolution
For booking-related disputes, please contact our support team first at support@techlup.co.ke. We will endeavour to resolve disputes within 14 business days.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be governed by the laws of Kenya and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nairobi.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
